The Spires Academy House System

The Spires Academy House System

The House system is an integral and important part of life at The Spires Academy. Every student who attends The Spires Academy is a member of a specific ‘house’. The houses are made up of all students from Year 7 through to the Sixth Form. Each student is given a coloured tie when they join the academy which represents the house that they are member of. Staff are also assigned to a House which they represent during the various competitions that we have throughout the year, from inter-house sport to an inter house Wii dance off!

There are 4 houses at The Spires Academy and all are named after famous local people.

Every house has students that form part of a House Council and Sport Council. The House Council students meet every week to discuss whole school issues and come up with ideas for the next house event. It is really important to the academy that students are able to voice their opinions and concerns and through the councils they are able to do this on a regular basis.  Each house has a staff House Leader who helps to support the House and Sport Captains. Every fortnight, there are specific House assemblies that are delivered by their House Leaders. The House Leaders are;
