Raising Awareness: Anti-Bullying Week 13-17th NovemberPosted on: 13/11/2017
For most students, school is a safe and happy place, providing pupils with break-times spent with friends, opportunities to learn new skills and fond memories of their education.
At Spires Academy, we pride ourselves on providing a calm and harmonious environment, and promoting positive behaviour amongst our students.
To support our vision of an inclusive and welcoming school, we’re raising awareness about an important campaign taking place between 13-17th November; Anti-Bullying Week 2017.
Organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA), this year’s theme is centered around ‘All Different, All Equal’ and aims to empower children and young adults to celebrate what makes them and others unique. By promoting equality and self-worth, ABA hopes encourage children and education professions to take individual and collective action to prevent bullying in schools.
Any form of bullying is unacceptable and includes verbal abuse via text messages and online-trolling, as well as physical intimidation. Victims of bullying should never have to suffer in silence; if you’re a student at Spire’s Academy, or a parent of a child experiencing bullying at school, please always tell a teacher.
