Spires Academy Visit Meadow View Residential HomePosted on: 11/07/2019
On Friday, 28th June, Year 10 Health and Social Care students visited Meadow View Residential Home to take part in an arts and crafts activity day as part of a Reminiscence Therapy event.
The students spent the day interacting with staff and residents to create some memorabilia from the past.
Students and residents designed and created a time line from 1916 (the birth year of the oldest resident) to present day. This time line will help individuals living with dementia to recall specific dates in history and remember events from the past.
The activities were planned as part of a reminiscence therapy programme, which is a treatment that helps individuals with dementia remember events, people and places from their past lives.
