Megan Pearce recaps the game
"I started off playing the holding midfielder role and was given clear instructions at the start of the game to hold my shape and sweep up any loose pieces from midfield. We kicked off and straight away we kept great possession. For the first few minutes we waited patiently for a gap to open to start an attack. The formation we played (3-5-2) suited me as I was able to dictate a lot of the play. The game started fast and within a minute we were 1-0 up after I played a through ball to the right winger, who played a square ball inside for a great finish from our midfielder. The next goal came following a foul on our winger. I took the free kick and managed to bend it over the 2 man wall into the far corner and over the keeper’s head. The score remained the same up until half time but we controlled the game by limiting Woking to long balls and not allowing shots on target. During the 2nd half we began fast again, as our manager had given us clear instructions to go out with some fire in our bellies as we seemed to be coasting since going 2-0 up. The pep talk worked and we scored goal after goal after goal, without any reply from Woking, resulting in us leading 7-0 with 10 minutes to go. The match was won by our sheer determination and showing more skill in possession. Overall, it was a great achievement and I am proud to captain the winning side this season."
