Bake Off - East Kent Schools TogetherPosted on: 05/07/2018
East Kent Schools together promoting Young Minds asked Spires students to rise to the challenge of creating a baked masterpiece in under 90 mins. The theme was “Summer” and it had to contain no more than 10 ingredients. Spires students rose to the occasion with over 50 entries, 10 designs were chosen from across years 7, 8, 9 & 10 to compete in a bake off final on Friday 29th of June. Students worked hard and created some wonderful dishes, the finalists all did brilliantly and there were two winners, one from upper school and one for lower school.
Ronnie Hammond took the crown from year 9 with his savoury baked pineapple rice which wowed the judges and showed excellent creativity, presentation and flavour.
Daisy Hulks & Azze Ally took first place for the lower school with their berry bonanza cake which was a light and fluffy cake with silky buttercream, filled and covered with beautiful summer fruits.
Both winners will receive a winner’s apron made just for them and a baking kit for continuing their good work at home and inspiring others.
