Equestrian Academy CompetitionPosted on: 25/05/2018
The Equestrian Academy’s competition season is in full flow and we are now into Round 4. This year has been a period of transition as many of the squad haven’t competed in a competition before and have moved up from the Development Squad to the Competition Squad.
This week the Spires’ team returned to form with an excellent individual and team performance against tough competition from The King’s School, Christ Church University Canterbury and Canterbury Academy. Codie Clackett gave an outstanding performance in her very first Equestrian competition and after a gruelling 1st round, won with an exceptional ride. Not to be outdone, the remaining members of the squad showed their strength and determination. After a very disappointing round 2, Hannah Rust (Year 7) won her round with an outstanding ride. Kitty McAllister, who again stepped up from the Development into the Competition Squad, showed true character and determination to finish in a very respectable 4th place. Elle Hamilton-Harris, our squad captain, had the toughest job of all, but was awarded 2nd place in her round. Ellie was up against a very experienced rider, but pushed her all the way!
These results leave everything to play for and the Spires Team are determined to retain their title.
