Spires Academy Race for LifePosted on: 24/03/2017
As part of our drive to raise awareness and to support a very worthy charity, for cancer awareness day we decided to run our very own Race for Life. As part of the drive we wanted to raise £500 for the charity. All students were encouraged to run / walk the course in their PE lessons after raising as much money as they could. Even the staff had their very own Race for Life event!
The students enjoyed either running, jumping, skipping, hobbling on crutches or dancing their way around the course with all year groups taking a real pride in taking part and supporting Cancer awareness.
We can be really proud of the efforts made by staff and pupils at Spires Academy raising a massive £1150.73!! We had some outstanding contributions to the target with our top 3 fund raisers being:
1. Jessica Bourton - £225
2. Akoya Maplesden-Tonge - £210.30
3. Hollie Ashford - £91.50
Thank you so much for all your support.
Please take the time to read the fantastic thank you letter Spires students recieved from Cancer Research UK.
